President of the Pontifical Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses visits Ecuador
As part of the visit of Fr. Corrado Maggioni, president of the Pontifical Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses, on the morning of Tuesday, April 12, a meeting was held with the Local Committee of the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress 2024, whose theme is “Fraternity to heal the world.”
The Local Committee is made up of Monsignor Andrés Carrascosa, Apostolic Nuncio of Ecuador, Monsignor Alfredo José Espinoza Mateus, sdb. Archbishop of Quito and Primate of Ecuador; religious men and women and lay people.
In this meeting, among other topics, the planned schedule for the years 2023-2024, the latest details of the official logo, the progress in the selection process of the Congress Anthem, the preparations for the Plenary Assembly scheduled to take place from 11 to 2024 were presented. September 15, 2023 in Quito, an event that will be attended by ecclesiastical authorities from different countries around the world.
In the afternoon, the meeting was held with the Liturgy Commission, in charge of preparing the texts of the celebrations of both the Symposium and the International Eucharistic Congress, which will be translated into different languages.
