The International Eucharistic Congress is being lived and felt in Quito.
The city of Quito is once again becoming a Eucharistic city, just days before the start of the Theological Symposium and a week away from the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress “Fraternity to Heal the World.” On Monday, September 2nd, the official delegation from the Pontifical Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses arrived in Quito, where they were welcomed at the Antonio José de Sucre International Airport by the Archbishop of Quito and Primate of Ecuador, Monsignor Alfredo José Espinoza Mateus, SDB.
The Vatican delegation includes Father Corrado Maggioni, S.M.M., President of the Pontifical Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses; Father Vittore Boccardi, S.S.S.; Dr. Francesco del Castello; and Father Gonzalo Guzmán.
Upon arrival, the first international delegation expressed their satisfaction in being able to participate in both ecclesial events, where the faith and devotion to Jesus in the Eucharist will be fully lived out in an atmosphere of fraternal unity within the Universal Church.
The Theological Symposium will take place from September 4th to 7th at the Cultural Center of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador, on the main campus in Quito. Meanwhile, the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress will be held from September 8th to 15th at the Metropolitan Convention Center of Quito.
