In a recent meeting of the Local Committee for the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress (IEC 2024), important topics related to the organization of the largest gathering of the universal Church, which will take place from September 8 to 15, 2024, in Quito, were discussed.

During the meeting, chaired by Monsignor Alfredo Espinoza, SDB, President of the Local Committee and Archbishop of Quito, along with Monsignor Andrés Carrascosa, Apostolic Nuncio to Ecuador, the heads of the IEC 2024 commissions presented the organizational and technical aspects related to the main activities of the Congress and the Theological Symposium.

Detailed plans for the Masses and the Eucharistic procession were emphasized, including the design of the stage and platforms for the outdoor Masses, ensuring that the liturgical spaces reflect the solemnity and magnitude of the Congress.

Additionally, a review was conducted of the speakers and presenters who will participate in the Theological Symposium and the Congress, highlighting the quality and diversity of specialists who will contribute their reflections on the theme “Fraternity to Heal the World.”
