IEC 2024 Committees Meet with Quito Municipal Authorities
On July 17, a delegation from the organizing committee of the 53rd International Eucharistic Congress (IEC 2024) met with Quito’s acting mayor, Fernanda Racines, City Councilor Cristina López, and the Secretary of Territorial Coordination, Governance, and Participation, Paulina Recalde. The meeting focused on logistical and coordination aspects to ensure the success of the ecclesial event that will be held in the Ecuadorian capital.
During the meeting, the IEC 2024 organizing committee members updated the authorities on logistical progress with various entities such as EMASEO, the Fire Department, and the Metropolitan Transit Agency. The municipal authorities also expressed their support to ensure that all preparations are carried out efficiently and on time.
The technical committee of the municipality dedicated to supporting IEC 2024, comprised of Acting Mayor Fernanda Racines and Councilor Cristina López, will work together with five subcommittees focusing on security and transportation, health, culture and tourism, communication, and logistics. These subcommittees will continue to hold meetings to refine the details of the preparation process for the International Eucharistic Congress.
